Before booking a paid diagnosis, it's worth ruling out a documented Apple issue. Apple has confirmed that a small percentage of Mac mini (2023) units with the M2 chip, manufactured between 16 June 2024 and 23 November 2024, may stop powering on entirely — and will repair eligible units free of charge for three years from the original retail sale date.
If your Mac mini is completely dead — no light, no fan, no chime, nothing on an external display with a known-good cable and outlet — check your serial number against Apple's official program page before paying for anything.
